Since 1986, this gold coin is minted by the mint "Untited States Mint" and achieved over the years a great popularity among investors. 2021 appeared the popular bullion coin for the first time since the first issue with a new value side. The motif of the new value side was designed by the artist, graphic designer and illustrator Jennie Norris. She has received several awards for her work and spends much of her free time in nature. Therefore, she was able to illustrate the new side of the coin with the bird of prey on the basis of their own observations true to nature.

This gold coin has a fineness of  916.67 / 1,000 and is accepted by all banks worldwide. It has a diameter of 32.7 mm and is  2.75 mm thick. The edge of the gold coin is fluted.

The motif side depicts the Goddess of Liberty holding an olive branch in her left hand and a torch in her right hand. To the right of the Goddess of Liberty is the year of mintage "2023", above the motif is "LIBERTY" and all around the coin along the edge are small asterisks. A closer look reveals the white house at the bottom left of the motif side and oak leaves can be seen at the bottom right. 

Value side of the American Eagle gold coin 2023

The value side features the head of a bald eagle, which is designed with an exceptionally high level of detail. Above the coin is the inscription "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA". Below this is the heraldic motto of the USA "E PLURIBUS UNUM". This translates to "OUT OF MANY ONE". In addition, the words "IN GOD WE TRUST" can be read below this lettering. Below the motif is the denomination "50 DOLLARS", the denomination "1 OZ." and the metal "FINE GOLD". In addition, the initials "JN" can be found at the bottom of the coin. These are the initials of the coin's designer, Jennie Norris.
