In the glow of the full moon, the Bounty sways asleep in the swell. Shadows move across old wooden planks and low whispers can be heard. Suddenly the door of the captain's cabin slams open, people enter and take the captain prisoner amidst loud resistance. This is how it must have happened when, on April 24, 1789 , part of the Bounty's crew committed a mutiny.
As a result, Captain Bligh was abandoned on a dinghy in the ocean. Due to this spectacular mutiny, the Bounty gained great fame and is still the subject of novels, films and plays. It is therefore hardly surprising that this adorns the motif side of a palladium coin.
