Canadian Maple Leaf 1 ounce gold coins are minted by The Royal Canadian Mint since 1979. During the first three years of production, the gold coin from Canada were minted with a fineness of 999/1000 gold. The fineness was increased to 999.9/1000 from 1982 and in 2007 the mint from Canada presented for the first time a special edition with a mintage of 30,848, which reached a fineness of 999.99/1000, the lapel of which was decorated with three maple leaves.
