This palladium coin was issued from 1995 to 1998 by the Australian mint "The Perth Mint". The series appeared with an annually changing motif of the famous Australian ratite in its natural environment. Along with the koala and the kangaroo, the great emu is probably one of the best known representatives of the Australian animal world. The flightless bird is the only surviving species of emus and the second largest ratite in the world after the African ostrich.
