Since 2018, the mint British Royal Mint Ltd. for the first time issues the popular Britannia coin as a platinum version.

The Britannia gold coin was first minted in 1987 by the British Royal Mint Ltd. and appeared in addition to the 1 ounce Britannia gold also in the other sizes of 1/2 ounce, 1/4 ounce and 1/10 ounce, which you will of course also receive in our range. Besides the Britannia coins made of gold you can also get them in silver 1 oz.

The 1 oz Britannia platinum coin has a fineness of 999.5/1,000 and a fine weight of 31.1035 grams, the face value is 100 British pounds. The edge of the coin is fluted.

Motif side of the Britannia platinum coin at 1 oz

The obverse of the 1 oz platinum coin Britannia shows Britannia, as the personification of the British Isles, depicted with trident, shield and helmet. The name of the coin "BRITANNIA", the year of minting, fine weight "1oz" and the fineness "999.5 PLATINUM" are embossed in the optically contrasting edge area of the motif side. 

Value side of the 1 ounce platinum Britannia

The value side of the 1-ounce Britannia platinum coin shows the portrait of the British Queen Elizabeth II after a design by the artist Jody Clark and her initials "JC". On the edge of the coin is stamped the nominal value "100 POUNDS", the name of the British Queen "ELIZABETH II" and "D.G.REG.F.D", the abbreviation of the Latin lettering Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defensor (translated this means: "By the Grace of God Queen, Defender of the Faith").
